Brussels Restaurant & Brasserie

Brussels Restaurant and Brasserie! Experience the Heart of Europe in the Heart of Halifax! Atlantic Canada's only restaurant specializing in Belgian inspired cuisine. The menu consists of traditional recipes from different regions in Belgium as well as modern international influences on Belgian cuisine.

Located in the historic Granville Square in downtown Halifax, Brussels Restaurant & Brasserie is nestled in a building that is rich in historic architecture. The cobblestone street is closed to traffic, which is very similar to the streetscape and buildings in Brussels. The central location makes for very peaceful and enjoyable dining al fresco on the patio in the summer months.

Specializing in fresh seafood and choice cut meats, prepared a number of different ways, the use of Belgian beer is a staple in the preparation of most fresh sauces and menu items. Authentic fresh Belgian waffles are made to order with a Belgian waffle iron. Mussels are offered in 19 different styles, cooked with various ingredients or served as platters.

For a Restaurant that supposly specializes in fresh Seafood it was very dishartening recently that of 2 lobsters served at our table both were not edible as they were not only dark on both ends when tail was broken off they were in fact BLACK . They were returned and steaks ordered in their place - the cooks did offer an apology and the steaks were pretty good. Also while on the subject I was very dissapointed that perked coffee was not available and only instant coffee was available - it would help to inform guests about this before coffee was ordered.
